From the former Headquarters of the Círculo Mercantil to a Casino for Gambling. 4,500 square metres distributed over 4 floors that house the most extensive and innovative offer of games of chance in the Spanish capital. This is the Casino Gran Vía in Madrid, a space that has been completely renovated by Touza Arquitectos’ architectural studio in collaboration with Steelman & Partners interior designers, who have opted to install exclusive PORCELANOSA Group materials, the quality of which ensures an impeccable service to the client in line with the casino’s philosophy. The building was constructed in 1918 with an articulated frame around a spectacular central atrium, crowned with a glass vault and connected via an expansive stately staircase. This restoration was designed with the highest respect for the architectonic, historic and spatial values of the building, returning it to its original splendour and charm.
The combination of colours and textures, whites, blacks and golds, relief and ornamentation, and furnishings creates a space that combines the essence of the casino and its games of chance with the classic spirit of the building. A walk through the building will inevitably draw us to the GV24 Artist’s Bar, which has been decorated in the most modern, contemporary style through the use of KRION® Extreme Light compact mineral on a countertop with sinuous shapes and double curves; a complex shape that takes the most advantage of the versatility of the company’s Solid Surface, and also includes LED backlighting that allows changes in ambiance through the brilliant use of light and colour. The bathrooms have also been equipped with products from the PORCELANOSA Group range. The wall facings from the Retro white range of L’Antic Colonial encompass the bathroom fittings from the Noken brand. Fittings have been chosen to make the most of the space, in particular the timed taps from the Hotels range, and wall-hung bathroom fixtures from the Arquitect collection.
