La Almazara by Starck is the result of a new collaboration with the iconic designer Philippe Starck, with whom we have had the good fortune to have worked with on numerous projects over the years (Ramses, Eslava Theatre…), together with his team (with the participation of Stefano Robotti) and LA Organic, a pioneer in the development of organic and ecological oil of the highest quality, which has been awarded internationally. It is regarding an olive oil mill-museum, one of a kind in the world, in the context of olive oil tourism and culture promoted by LA Organic and which has required a complex urban planning process developed by TOUZA Architects. It is an olive oil mill and museum on the outskirts of Ronda, Andalucia, dedicated to organic agriculture, organic olive oil production, gastronomy and culture.

This project is the culmination of a major renovation of the estate, on which more than 5.000 olive trees have been cultivated. A visitor centre has been built, a farmhouse of architectural value has been restored and a scenic route has been developed with an ecological vegetable garden and sculptural elements designed by Philippe Starck himself. The oil mill will be a monumental building embedded in the land, with symbols representative of Andalusian culture, such as the bull-fighting horn or the olive, as well as a Picasso styled eye that crowns its façade. The museum will open to the public in 2024 and in Starck’s words, “The Almazara is a reflection of Andalusia: austere, rigorous, true, exaggerated, extreme, timeless, strong, spiritual and passionate.”
